We are happy to announce that the IB organization (http://www.ibo.org/) has accepted our application and Duhovka was included in the list of candidate schools yesterday (see attachment). From September, we will enter the preparatory period. At the end of this period (Spring 2019) Duhovka will receive the IB World School certificate and will be able to offer not only a Czech diploma but also an international baccalaureate for current students of the middle school (kvarta and younger).
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is a two-year program for students of the final two grades (septima, oktava). The IB program ends with an international certificate. Graduation with an IB Diploma opens students to a better opportunity to be accepted for enrollment at foreign universities. Studying the program with its great variety of choice, development of learning skills, emphasis on knowledge interconnection, and development of social responsibility corresponds with Duhovka’s values and matches our graduate profile.
It will not be obligatory to pass an international diploma - the student can decide to opt for the Czech maturita. Students of Duhovka will be prepared for both types of exams, the curriculum combines the requirements of the Czech maturita with the expectations of the IB. For teachers it will be (in addition to our current Montessori training) another stimulus for their development.
What comes to your mind when seeing a red paper rose, a merry-go-round and a shooting gallery? Yes, you got it! The third edition of the successful sales festival Mini for kids will be in the style of a traditional Czech travelling fair. Czech designers will present new collections of clothing, toys, books, furniture and designer accessories for people both small and big. And relaxing and gathering strengths will be possible during the rich associated event program.
